MTC

Surprise email! We woke up this morning to a couple of emails in our inboxes. Elder Hall was given some time on the computer and he wrote an email to his list. He leaves the MTC on Tuesday Sept 1, 2015 to head into the mission field. He is excited. Here is his letter.

Hey everyone!

Sorry this email is kind of late, last time I got to email I barely had anytime to so they’re letting me email now. I’ve been in the MTC(Missionary Training Center) for eight days now and I leave on Tuesday morning to go into the Mission Field . I’m in Tema Ghana, it’s not too hot but it’s very humid all the time. It’s a bit odd with so many Africans around cause I’m not used to it but they are all very friendly but they have a very different culture than I do. My companion is great, his name is Elder Harvey and he is from England. We get along well and he likes football [soccer] so what’s not to like? My district is great as well, it includes Me, Elder Nielsen, Elder Nissenen, Elder Helm form the US, Elder Harvey from England, Elder Wokekoro from Nigeria, Elder Kalolo from Samoa, Elder Mwetu and Sister Ohanga from Kenya, and Sister Bull from Liberia. They are all very nice and I know they’ll be great missionaries. The food is different, but it’s not terrible! I’ll get used to it.And I feel like I’m getting taught stuff I already know but I am becoming more comfortable with teaching it so it’s all good.

Some scripture that has helped me since I’ve been here and that I rather enjoy is Joshua 1:9,16. “9 Be strong and of a good courage; be not afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee whithersoever thou goest.

16 And they answered, saying, All that thou commandest us we will do, and whithersoever thou sendest us, we will go.

I miss you all but I know that I’m going to love it here. I didn’t know I was going to email so I don’t have my camera on me so hopefully pictures will come next time.

Elder Hall

President Robison posted a new blog posting that included a short video of stills from the MTC experience for this current group, the same one Elder Hall is in.
