Believe in Christ

A tribute to moms, lots of hard work, and staying put for another transfer.

We had a wonderful call with Elder Hall. We get to talk to him via telephone twice a year, that is four times during his two year mission. We spoke with him on Christmas and now Mother’s Day. Next will be Christmas 2016. Mother’s Day 2017 will be the last time. He is scheduled to return in August of 2017.

Hello Everyone!

I hope you all had a wonderful Mothers Day. I know I did as I was blessed to speak with my own Mother and family who I love so dearly. This week Elder Tyokolwana and I were blessed with wonderful people to share the message of peace, hope, and love that is the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We’ve been working hard: quite frankly I’m tired. I will be staying here again for another transfer. I am grateful for the time that I’ve been able to spend here. I’ve met some wonderful people; some of which will be entering into a covenant with their God on Saturday through baptism. I’m grateful for them. I’m grateful for the opportunity I have to serve as a missionary representing my Savior, church, and family.

Sometimes I think of all that God has blessed me with, especially my family. I’m grateful for my parents who were brave enough to embrace the gospel, I know that it might not have been easy and that, well, they had to make some changes in their lives, but it’s been worth it. They’ve taught me to say my prayers and read my scriptures, and not simply through word but by example they’ve taught me to believe in Christ. I’ve certainly seen a change in them; they’re better people; they’re stronger. I’ve even seen a change in myself! That’s not to say there isn’t a lot to improve on, but I know that the gospel of Jesus Christ strengthens all who embrace it.

This new week should be good. My companion and I will get out there and work hard to help our brothers and sisters who have not yet received the good news of the restored gospel of Jesus Christ.

2 Nephi 33:10-11
10 And now, my beloved brethren, and also Jew, and all ye ends of the earth, hearken unto these words and believe in Christ; and if ye believe not in these words believe in Christ. And if ye shall believe in Christ ye will believe in these words, for they are the words of Christ, and he hath given them unto me; and they teach all men that they should do good.

11 And if they are not the words of Christ, judge ye—for Christ will show unto you, with power and great glory, that they are his words, at the last day;
