Working hard this week teaching two ladies. And another should be ready for baptism in a couple of weeks. Prayer and scripture are key to conversion.

Subject: Try the Virtue of the Word of God

Hello everyone!

This past week my companion and I continued to work as hard as we can! We’ve caught a bit of a break now. Two of our investigators, Ama Mary and Mary, came to church. Ama Mary is friends with Stephanie’s mother. She doesn’t speak English well, but she certainly likes what we share with her, the gospel of Jesus Christ. And Mary is the younger sister to our recent convert Jane. They both enjoyed church very much. After church my companion and I went to help Sister Jane clean our her house because it flooded again after the rain yesterday. The water got up to about half way to my knee. We will be seeing both of them tomorrow and hopefully we will be able to help them prepare for baptism in November. We are still working with Stephanie. She will be baptized in two weeks, on the 23rd!

I often find that these scriptures are very true.

Mosiah 27:14
14 And again, the angel said: Behold, the Lord hath heard the prayers of his people, and also the prayers of his servant, Alma, who is thy father; for he has prayed with much faith concerning thee that thou mightest be brought to the knowledge of the truth; therefore, for this purpose have I come to convince thee of the power and authority of God, that the prayers of his servants might be answered according to their faith.

Alma 31:5
5 And now, as the preaching of the word had a great tendency to lead the people to do that which was just—yea, it had had more powerful effect upon the minds of the people than the sword, or anything else, which had happened unto them—therefore Alma thought it was expedient that they should try the virtue of the word of God.

What will really help others accept the gospel or what will really help them change is prayer and the scriptures. We can force no one to accept the gospel or follow Jesus Christ, but I know that prayers and the scriptures will surely help them to if they are willing.

Hope that you all have a great week!
