Plenty to Teach

Another good week in James Town.

First exchanges, lots of teaching, testimony about three new Apostles (Elders Rasband, Stevenson, and Renlund) and one way to draw closer to God.

Subject: Plenty to Teach

Hello everyone!

This week was pretty good! I went on exchanges for the first time this Wednesday with Elder Johnson, he had served in Jamestown before and he goes home in a week, but it was pretty good! On Thursday and Friday we were teaching all day which I’ve discovered is how I prefer it, I was way too busy to get distracted and feeling like I am being effective with the time given me which is great! On Saturday and Sunday I was able to watch some of General conference at our Stake Center next to the Temple in Accra, it was great! I loved what I got to see. I know that the three new Apostles, Elders Rasband, Stevenson and Renlund, have been called of God and are called to help us all come closer to Christ.
It seems that about half of our contacts here in Jamestown just call us over while we are walking down the street, we currently have twelve progressing investigators which Elder Ndala and I have been blessed with! We have a baptismal service scheduled for the 24th of October which I am looking forward to. Also this is the last week of my first transfer, that’s crazy! Already almost half way done with training.
I know that by reading the Holy scriptures that we can all come closer to God, I just finished Mosiah in the Book of Mormon and I’m halfway through Genesis in the Bible now and I am quite enjoying it! And I know that everyone else could enjoy reading the scriptures as well.

1 Timothy 4:10-16

10 For therefore we both labour and suffer reproach, because we trust in the living God, who is the Saviour of all men, specially of those that believe.

11 These things command and teach.

12 Let no man despise thy youth; but be thou an example of the believers, in word, in conversation, in charity, in spirit, in faith, in purity.

13 Till I come, give attendance to reading, to exhortation, to doctrine.

14 Neglect not the gift that is in thee, which was given thee by prophecy, with the laying on of the hands of the presbytery.

15 Meditate upon these things; give thyself wholly to them; that thy profiting may appear to all.

16 Take heed unto thyself, and unto the doctrine; continue in them: for in doing this thou shalt both save thyself, and them that hear thee.

Hope you all have a great week!
